Mission: The Kennett Area Park & Recreation Board is a United Way agency providing
out-of-school, year-round
recreational opportunities for residents of the area covered by the United Way of the
Kennett Area. Winter activities
include a Basketball League for students in grades 3-12, Co-ed Volleyball, Indoor Soccer
for students in grades 6-12.
Spring activities include Co-ed T-Ball for 6-8 year olds, Girls Softball for students in
grades 4-9. Summer activities
include a Tennis Program, both instructional and competitive, for children and adults, a
Soccer Program for students
in the 9th grade and above, a 6-week Playground Program with supervised games and
activities for students in grades
K-5, a Wrestling Program for students in grades 6-12, and a Field Hockey Program. The
Board also operates tile
community swimming pool. Programs associated with the pool are a competitive swim team, a
Learn-To-Swim
Program, and an Aquatic Exercise Program. There are also facilities at the pool for
picnicking and volleyball. The
pool is lit for night swimming.

Program Information: We are committed to involving young people in free volunteer
home repair services to in-need families who live in Southern Chester County,
Pennsylvania, New Castle County, Delaware, and Cecil County, Maryland. We have work
days, weekends and retreats several times a year where teenagers in our community
partner with trained adults to give of their time and energy to help those in need.
Our teams do most home repair projects, including painting, roofing, carpentry, dry
walling, and some electrical, plumbing and masonry.
